Product options template

Create and update BigCommerce product options using Shift.

Product options are used to create customisable products, such as T-shirts with different sizes and colours.

Import & export columns

Basic columns

Fields	Description
Mode	The import mode for this row. See import modes for more information.
Option ID	This is the unique identifier provided by BigCommerce for existing product options. It's unique per BigCommerce store. This field is required to update existing product options.
Product ID	The unique identifier for the product that the option is attached to
Product SKU	The SKU of the product that the option is attached to.
Display Name	The label for the product option, e.g. Size, Color
Sort Order	Product options are ordered ascending by this numeric field
Type	Refers to how the options will be displayed on the storefront. Allowed values are: radio_buttons, rectangles, dropdown, product_list, product_list_with_images and swatch.
Image URL	Public URL for an image. Used for swatch product options.
Name	The unique option name, auto-generated from the display name, a timestamp. Internal only.

Option Values columns

Each option will have one or more values. E.g. for a Size option, the values could be Small, Medium, Large.

When there are multiple values, the fields for each will have a numeric suffix, e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc.

Fields	Description
Option Value 1 ID	The unique identifier for the product option value
Option Value 1 Is Default	The default option value will be automatically selected on the storefront. ? Allowed values: Yes, No, 1, 0, True, False
Option Value 1 Label	The text label for the option value, e.g. Small, Medium, Large.
Option Value 1 Sort Order	Product option values are ordered ascending by this numeric field
Option Value 1 Data	Extra data describing the product option value.

Supported actions

Shift supports:

• Updating the product option display name, value labels and sort orders.

Shift does not support:

• Automatically creating variants for the product options & values.
• Deleting option values

Export filters

You can filter options that are exported, by choosing to export options for products that match one of the following filters:

• Product ID Range
• Brands
• Categories
• Purchasability
• Condition
• Date updated
• Visibility
• Keyword
• Name

tip

As you reduce the number of items in your export, or change what data should be included, the estimate of the number of records and duration of the export will be updated.
